My name is Andrew Lichtsinn and I am a recent graduate from Drexel University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Game Art and Production. When I decided I was going to pursue a higher education I had one goal in mind: get into the video game industry. Ever since I was a kid and picked up Pokemon Red Version on the Game Boy Color, I had always fantasized what it would be like to create the “perfect” game. A game that myself and millions of others would spend hours of time playing and would be hailed as one of the best games ever made. Obviously that is quite a hefty dream but nonetheless I knew that I wanted a career in video games.
As I progressed through my time at Drexel University I learned a lot about what makes games successful and most importantly the insane amount of time and energy it takes to make them. And the more I worked on group projects and shifted around different roles I realized that it wasn’t my artistic skill or coding ability that I brought to the table. While I was decent enough at those things it was my people skills and organization that I thought would best benefit a group project. And ever since I volunteered to be my Senior Project’s Producer I’ve never doubted that project management is where I belonged.
Now that I have managed a game project from start to finish I couldn’t be more ready to break into the industry and learn as much as I can so that one day I’ll be able to be a Creative Director of my own project and see my dream game become a reality.
